AES 22nd Anniversary Dinner, 19 September 2017

The AES 22nd Anniversary Dinner was successfully held on 19 September 2017 at the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel. We were honoured to have the Honourable Rimsky Yuen, SC, the Secretary of Justice of HKSAR attending as our Principal Guests of Honour of the Dinner.

This annual event offers an excellent opportunity for over 400 members and and guests to meet and expand their network in a relaxed atmosphere with senior government officials, government staff associations as well as professionals from different industries.

AES Scientific and Technological Delegation on 4-5th March 2017

The Scientific and Technological Delegation was supported by The Hong Kong Institute of Clerks of Works (HKICW). We visited the Shunde headquarter of the Country Garden Holdings Company Ltd, Bijiang Golden House, Ancestral Hall, Calligraphy, playing the lyre and site visit to Heyuan Park, with the theme of studying strategic and fast development of towns of special features in Mainland China. As we observed, strategic planning, clear division of labour and strong implementations are the keys to success.

Joint Christmas Party on 9th December 2016

We organised a “Joint Society Christmas Party” at Virgo Bar & Restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui with seven other societies of different engineers’ professional as well as five supporting bodies in Hong Kong. Ir Dr Hon Lo Wai-kwok and Prof David Lee Ka-yan were both invited as special guests who performed at the party. There were over 160 participants showing up and enjoying the brilliant atmosphere of Christmas with the party theme of “Cartoon”.

AES 21st Anniversary Dinner, 27 October 2016

The AES 21st Anniversary Dinner was successfully held on 27 October 2016 at the JW Marriott Hotel. We were honoured to have the Honourable C Y Leung, the Chief Executive of HKSAR, and Ms Chou Hong, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government, attending as our Principal Guests of Honour of the Dinner.

It was an excellent opportunity for over 400 members and and guests to meet and expand their network in a relaxed atmosphere with senior government officials, government staff associations as well as professionals from different industries.

We were also delighted to have talented performers, including the Honourable Lo Wai Kwok, Professor David Lee Ka Yan and the Band of Civil Engineering Development Department.Everyone had a great time and the ballroom was filled with joy and laughter.

Of course, this grand event would not have been possible without the good efforts of the Organising Committee and all the helpers. The success of our Anniversary Dinner tonight was already good evidence of strong support from the 140 invited guests as well as the commitment of our members. We look forward to seeing you at the future events of AES.

Joint Society Football Match on 15 July 2016

This is the first joint society football match. With supportive YES members, the football team performed perfectly and won the championship. Most importantly, our fellowship is much more strengthened. We look forward to taking part in the next sports event.

Dashun Foundation 5th Anniversary Cocktail Reception cum Establishment of Belt & Road Global Development Alliance (BARGDA) was held on 31st May 2016, at Garden Lounge, Hong Kong Club from 18:30 to 20:30. The Guest of Honour and the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Prof K C Chan, and one of the Advisors of BARGDA and the Vice-chairperson of HKSAR Basic Law Committee, Ms Elsie Leung Oi-sie delivered the keynote addresses to over 500 participants.

Talk on Tung Chung New Town Extension Study on 19 May 2016

We are pleased to have government officials, Ms. Amy Wu (Senior Town Planner of Planning Department) and Mr. Kenneth Wong (Senior Engineer of Civil Engineering and Development Department) to give the history and the future development proposal for the Tung Chung New Town Extension to our members on 19 May 2016.
Once we are equipped with this essential information, we will be able to assist the government in its public consultation. We have participated in about 50 sessions of public engagement and public consultation for different infrastructure projects for different government works departments in the past years.

工程界社促會宗旨以培訓專業人士的領導及管理才能為主,同時亦鼓勵業界人士積極參與社會事務,以發揮關注社會的精神及提升個人的質素。

本會於2016年2月23日舉行了一個研討會,主要討論立法會「拉布」對整個社會,尤其是工程建造業的影響,由何鍾泰博士帶領討論,青年及專業工程師均踴躍表達意見。
